How long does the inspection usually take?
HERS testing takes between one to two hours.
How long does it take until I receive my paperwork?
2 to 5 business days.
What happens if we fail our inspection?
Our inspectors will work with you and your contractor to troubleshoot any issues. If we need to return for an additional inspection we will charge a reduced re-visit fee.
Why do I need to have my home tested?
The California Energy Commission requires the County or City Building Departments review a Title 24 energy calculation on your home to ensure the new construction, addition, or remodels comply with California Code Efficiency Standards before a permit is issued.

What to expect on site visit: Advanced Lower Home Energy inspectors will wear uniforms with an ID badge. They will have diagnostic equipment that they will need to conduct the testing. Please allow them access to the furnace and AC location including the attic and crawlspaces. They will also need access to rooms that have supply and return vents.
